DRANSE DELTA NATURE RESERVE
Nature reserve particularly rich in fauna, especially beavers and birds, and in flora, including rare trees, in Thonon.
The Dranse River flows into Lake Geneva, creating a veritable delta, with the significant deposits of alluvium that this entails. The reserve, created in 1980, is particularly rich in fauna - notably the beaver - and flora: over 800 different plant species can be found in its 53 hectares. Rare trees such as sea buckthorns and above all a magnificent floral bouquet of impatience, forget-me-nots, orchids... The reserve is home to many birds such as the heron or the small gravelot.
