MATIGNON CASTLE
Castle restored after the Second World War, with Aubusson tapestries, Louis XV furniture and works by Arthur Le Duc.
In 1715, Jacques de Matignon, owner of the castle, married Louise de Monaco and became Prince of Monaco at the same time. The turpitudes of the Revolution severely damaged the building, and only the south wing flanked by a square tower was spared. In 1817, Jacques Le Chartier acquired it, and in 1840 the municipality built the pavilion. Restored after the Second World War, it now houses a fabulous collection of Aubusson tapestries, Louis XV furniture and beautiful works by Arthur Le Duc, a local animal sculptor.
