Planetarium offering themed activities, with a museographic space dedicated to science and the life of the planet.
On the heights of La Hague, this is a unique complex in the region. The Ludiver planetarium is a destination in its own right. Under a ten-meter-diameter vault, you can discover 7,000 stars overhead, thanks to an ultra-modern projection system installed in 2023! Sessions at the planetarium take place at fixed times, last between 45 minutes and feature themed animations. What's more, you can admire the stars directly through a giant 600 mm telescope, the T600. Dedicated stargazing evenings are usually held on Friday evenings: remember to reserve your seats! Finally, a "sky explorer" lets you get up close and personal with the stars. At the same time, Ludiver is also a museum, offering a variety of exhibitions, models, educational tablets and many other surprises. The premises are surrounded by a magnificent two-hectare landscaped park, with games for children and an astronomical treasure hunt. Further on, you'll discover (and hear) three wind harps: these will emit sounds according to the wind. But above all, it's the panoramic view from the towers that takes your breath away: from Cherbourg's immense artificial harbour to the hedged farmland of La Hague, you'll discover a unique environment, from the top of the 180-metre-high site. All in all, an unmissable destination in its own right that will keep you busy for a good half-day.
