A magnificent museography for this brand-new establishment, which will help you discover the rich heritage of Villedieu-les-Poêles.
The Maison du Patrimoine Sourdin, in the heart of Villedieu-les-Poêles, is a center for interpreting the history of the Sourdin town, housed in a renovated former cinema with remarkable architecture. And the least we can say is that, after three and a half years of renovation, the place lives up to expectations! Six interactive, scenographic areas present the city's rich architectural and cultural heritage through a series of outstanding museographic collections. You'll discover the history of this former Order of Malta commandery, the copper industry, lacemaking skills, the river's natural heritage, Norman furniture and contemporary legacies, i.e. some of the finest copper and brass objects made today by the sourdins workshops of excellence. Temporary exhibitions are on offer, as well as city tours. The lace school, on the second floor of the Maison du Patrimoine Sourdin, offers bobbin lace courses for the general public. All in all, we invite you to discover this magnificent gateway to the rich heritage of Villedieu-les-Poêles. It's a remarkable place to visit, and all individual visits are free of charge. Villedieu has long deserved such a space: now it's here! Don't hesitate to visit.
