An establishment located in Saint-James, offering French knitwear and tours of its production workshop.
It's one of the jewels in the crown of French knitwear, and part of La Manche's industrial heritage. Originally renowned for its sailor sweaters, Saint James has gradually developed a whole range of ready-to-wear products, whose recognized quality has made it a success in France and around the world. Since 1889, the brand has been dressing entire generations: after the sailor sweater, Saint-James began to evolve its production in the 1970s, offering new garments such as shirts and pants, and opting for a "casual chic" sailor style from the 1990s onwards. Today, the Saint-James brand has around sixty stores, and exports to 80 countries - including Japan and South Korea - generating 40% of its sales from exports. Today, in addition to classic garments, Saint James is developing collaborations with other brands, to renew the exercise, with Isabelle Bally, l'atelier Tuffery or even l'Elysée! Located in the town of the same name, Saint James has a production workshop employing around 300 people. Yarn inspection, knitting and assembly are all essential stages in the making of a garment. You can visit the workshops Monday to Friday from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. (available times are 10.30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.). Please note: each tour can accommodate a maximum of 15 people. On site, in addition to visiting the workshops, you can take advantage of the extensive boutique open from Monday to Saturday.
