A remarkable polisher dating back to about 4,000 years BC, classified as a historical monument, to be discovered in Saint-James.
This polisher, dating back to about four thousand years BC, is a small quartz of a modest dimension, 1.25 m by 0.50 m, barely flush with the grass. On its surface, there are a dozen parallel grooves and a central bowl probably dug for a ritual ceremony. Excavations have revealed polished axes, including one made of jade. Classified as a historical monument in 1977, the place is also called “stone of Saint Benedict”.
