VILLAGE OF TUNIS
A hilltop village overlooking the lake, where Evelyne Porret's students have opened their own pottery workshops and stores.
This small village in height, with a plunging view on the lake, is a small jewel unknown to tourists passing through Egypt. It is nevertheless one of the most pleasant places in the country. In the 1980s, Evelyne Porret, an artist and pottery specialist, settled there, built her house and a pottery workshop. It was her students who then developed this craft, which made the village famous. Many have opened their own pottery workshops and shops that you will find easily as you stroll through the clay streets.
