PTAH-HOTEP MASTABA

A small, very pretty mastaba dedicated to Ptahhotep, with unfinished ornamentation in the corridor and a small chapel.
This lovely little mastaba is dedicated to Ptahhotep the Elder, father of Akhethotep I and grandfather of Ptahotep II, both owners of mastaba D64. Ptahotep II had two sons: Akhethotep and Ptahhotep. The latter, Akhethotep, owned a mastaba located north of the pyramid of Ounas and southeast of that of Djoser. Ptahhotep II wrote the famous maxims of the same name. In the corridor of the Ptah-Hotep mastaba, the unfinished ornamentation shows how the artists worked. The small chapel deserves your attention.
