Das Zimmer war guter Standard, die Lage jedoch perfekt für die Ausflüge im Nationalpark.
Das Abendessen und das Frühstück waren sehr gut und preislich für die Qualität und die Lage der Lodge angemessen.????????
I will echo what everyone else says, the location is incredible. Staying at Wuksachi is a memorable experience because of the beauty of the landscape and the accessibility to the Giant Forest and General Sherman. Absolutely breathtaking. Other than that, it was a bit disappointing, honestly.
I should have had lower expectations for the hotel itself, and then it may have been a better experience. I thought paying $400 a night for a hotel would have provided just a little bit more service or some hospitable touches. It didn't seem like they cared much about the guest experience, and none of the employees seemed to want to be there.
We drove for over an hour up the mountain during a pretty significant winter storm. The drive up was quite an adventure and not at all an easy thing to do in those conditions. All I wanted was a warm cup of coffee after our 8 hour (total) drive through a storm. I saw fresh urns of coffee in the lobby, but there were no cups. Those had to be purchased from the bar, but the bar wasn't open, so I wasn't "allowed" to have their coffee. It's the most ridiculous policy I have ever seen in a $400 a night hotel. It's really the little touches like that which make a hotel experience enjoyable or not, in my opinion.
Overall the customer service was lacking, especially in the restaurant. It was Easter weekend, so perhaps they were short staffed.
I would not stay at Wuksachi Lodge again. There are better ways to stay in and around the park.
My family and I checked in yesterday, we met a kind man to help us. And I picked some souvenirs from gift shop, at the time, another person with blonde hair and cyan plaid shirt come to help checkout.
I like the plate with two black bears, and I asked him to give me a new one, because it’s a sample from shelf, it has old color, yellowing stickers, and some dust. He didn’t notice my request and put it into a paper bag. My sister came over here and asked him again if he can give me a brand new one. He replied that “we only have this one, sorry”
Then, I found a lot of the same plates in the showcase beside the exit door.
I felt be deceived and I felt upset and why he lost his honesty and passionate of his work.
If he’s willing to check the stock or ask his colleagues, it’ll be different.
I told him I will drive back to San Francisco and I’m traveling from overseas please pack it or it’ll break,
I think he didn’t package it very carefully. Fragile items should have boxes or anti-collision measures, But maybe he only has paper bags and I can forgive him.
But why he can’t take a new one to me? Especially since I already said I was coming for a long distance. Maybe my life I’ll only be here one time. I can’t understand and his behavior left me a sad experience here.
Great location for Sequoia. Rooms have sooo many issues that need to be addressed. Cabinets were not closing right that it needs a cardboard “tightener”. Shower heads that were from the 80s. Unfilled shampoo. You know those types. Overall, it was manageable. The staff were very nice.
Housekeeping did good but you have to ask for daily housekeeping before 10am of that day. Keep that in mind.
Lazy untrained staff. Guy on reception with beard has serious attitude problem!! Ignorant, miserable and unwelcoming on arrival. Should not be front of house, simple!!
Most uncomfortable mattress on earth. I wish I'd read the reviews..I would have stayed somewhere else and saved $$
This place felt like camp as a kid...not worth the $$$.
The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The Peaks Restaurant food was very good, nothing too adventurous but hit the spot. The staff and servers were friendly and helpful. We were there the first night it was open after a two month winter closure. The restaurant wasn’t fully stocked up yet so a few things on the menu were not available.
Went in Feb 2019, the staff was great, housekeeping was great, strong hot water pressure, heater in the room kept us so warm. King size bedroom has pull out sofa bed, small fridge, coffee maker, iron, blow dryer, shampoo and conditioner, body gel and lotion. Tons of pillows and warm blankets. Restaurant on site, Sat they had a all you can eat breakfast buffet. Will be back.
Hat uns sehr gefallen! Toll gelegen! Zimmer geräumig mit Allem, was man braucht. Gemütliche Betten, sauber, freundliches Personal. Besonders top ist die Pizza auf dem Pizzadeck des Restaurants. Einfach super!
Location can't be beat. And the staff at the restaurant are the best. Food was quite good given the location of the lodge. Some of the furniture in our room was a bit worn (particularly the mattress on the sleeper sofa) and the room was a bit difficult to ventilate as it was winter. But other than that, we loved Wuksachi and we will definitely be back again.
Best Christmas vacation yet! You pay for the location but the lodge is nice and the people working there are happy to share their experience around the mountain and help you make the most of yours. Wonderful place to stay in the Sequoia National Park.
You’re buying the location, only. The restaurant can’t support high volume situations. So you’ll need to grocery shop far away and make do with the microwave in the room. They have patio heaters they never turn on, so don’t expect to relax outside lodge unless it’s great weather. Rooms are dated, but it’s a lodge feel and I think that’s ok. Recommend pushing for house keeping to resupply coffee and towels as often as you want, because it’s up to you to demand it.
