TOWN HOTEL
City Hall in a pleasant and historical setting in Corfu Chora.
The current town hall occupies a very beautiful building of the Venetian Renaissance: built in the 17th century, the Loggia was the meeting place for Venetian nobles and naval officers. To the right of the building is a monument in honour of Morosini who took over the Peloponnese from the Turks in 1691. La Loggia was first transformed into a theatre in the 18th century, before becoming the town hall in 1903. The square around the town hall is very quiet: it is pleasant to drink coffee or eat there. There are excellent Italian restaurants in particular.
