PALEOPOLIS
Archaeological site near Corfu, in the peninsula of Kanoni.
4 km south of Corfu, on the Kanoni peninsula, this archaeological site would be interesting if it were better maintained. As you stroll along the narrow path amidst olive and pine trees, you'll come across the remains of ancient buildings: a5th-century basilica, an open theater, a Byzantine church, a Roman house and the famous Mon Repos palace. Continuing past Paleopolis, you'll find the ruins of an ancient agora. Unfortunately, the site has recently been fenced off and it's not always easy to make out the monuments...
