Located in a tower overlooking the Douro River but a bit out of the way, the hotel has all the comforts of a five-star. Rooms on the 16th floor and above have great views and are equipped with gadgets (a flat-screen TV built into the bathroom mirror, for example). The marble bathrooms are heated by the floor. The terrace is great for brunch or an evening drink. Porto Palace has several restaurants, including the renowned Salsa and Loureiro.
