THE HOUSE OF CAMEMBERT
Store and museum to discover the history and manufacture of Camembert cheese through videos, advertising posters...
A beautiful 18th-century half-timbered building reveals what goes on behind the scenes at Camembert. Since its invention by Marie Harel in 1791, the recipe has remained unchanged: 2 liters of milk for one Camembert. Videos, advertising posters and a reconstructed maturing cellar give you an insight into the making of France's most famous cheese. Admission includes a Camembert tasting! In the store, you'll find not only cheeses, but also local products (cider, sweets, etc.), by-products and a snack bar.
