Nestled under the arcades in front of the Duomo's baptistery, with its air of an old café from the end of the century, Il Gancino is a warm place with an authentic spirit. Recognizable by its old wooden front, this friendly locanda serves very good quality espressos, but also savoury snacks to be tasted on the spot, in a wooden decor with comfortable armchairs. The home-made pizzas are delicious and inexpensive. Large choice of bruschette and other panini and tramezzini of all kinds. Nice selection of teas, herbal teas and coffees.

Ho mangiato degli antipasti di pesce tutti molto freddi si vedeva che erano stati cucinati parecchio tempo prima. Il disastro è stata la pasta con le vongole che alla prima forchettata si è sollevata dal piatto tutta insieme, evidenza di un prato congelato e mal riscaldato. Do due stelle solo perché la pasta era stata fatta in casa. Peccato perché la location è bella

Great aperitif location..both outside in piazza ( sun trap in the morning) or cosy inside. Misto Frito tasty and good sized portion.
