Opened in 1545 as a medicinal plant garden of the Faculty of Medicine, it is the oldest university botanical garden in Europe. It houses several rare plant specimens, an old library and the university's botanical collections. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the garden also houses a vast pavilion at the cutting edge of technology, nicknamed the "Garden of Wonders", where five greenhouses allow the recreation of all the plant atmospheres in the world.
