PIAZZA BALDASSARE GALUPPI
A beautiful square lined with elegant buildings, the social heart of Burano.
The social heart of Burano, this pretty square is lined with elegant buildings: the Gothic palace of Podestà, today the seat of the town hall; the church of San Martino that closes the south side and the elegant little palace of the Museo del Merletto. In the center of the square, notice a 16th century Istrian stone pillar: here floated the standard of Saint Mark, emblem of the Serenissima. A little further on, the bust of Baldassare Galuppi pays tribute to the talented native composer.
