A charming hamlet where you can find the authenticity of a past that is now gone from Venice.
A charming little hamlet, the ancient Metamaucus is the first site where the inhabitants of what was to become Venice settled between 421 and 811. After the radical transformation that the island underwent from the end of the 19th century, today Malamocco is the only place to recover the authenticity of a past that is now over. There are three Gothic buildings dating back to the 15th century in its main square: Palazzo del Podestà (15th century), the church of Santa Maria Assunta and a patrician house now converted into a hotel.
