Sumptuous Renaissance residence, defended by important ramparts.

Built in the 12th^centuryby the Counts of Ventimiglia, the military castrum became a sumptuous Renaissance residence in the 15th^century, defended by extensive ramparts. After withstanding numerous attacks, it fell to Franco-Hispanic artillery fire during the Seven Years' War in 1744. Abandoned by its owners, it was further damaged by the earthquake of 1887. Today, only the remains can be visited and come alive during village festivals.

Opening time and information on CASTELLO DEI DORIA DI DOLCEACQUA

Open every day from March 16th to October 15th and during the holidays from 10am to 1.30pm and from 3.30pm to 7pm. Closed on Monday from 16 October to 15 March, open the other days from 10am to 1.30pm and from 2.30pm to 6pm. Ticket: 6 €. Reduced rate 5 €. Reduced ticket for a family of at least 3 people: 15 €.
