STANFORD MEMORIAL CHURCH
Church in the center of the campus, does not impose any particular religion on students, celebrating different types of events
The Stanford Church is located in the center of campus and is one of the most beautiful buildings at the university. Jan Stanford had it built in 1903, in memory of her husband Leland. The Stanfords were religious, but not practicing, and did not want the church to impose any particular religion on students. Today, it is used for various types of events, such as Catholic masses, weddings, concerts, university public services, etc. The interior mosaics represent scenes from the Old Testament.
