FLORIDA PIONEER MUSEUM
Small museum in Florida City presenting a permanent collection and a temporary exhibition of various themes
This small museum is housed in the former home of Florida City's station agent from the days when the Florida East Coast Railway ran through town. Its main theme is daily life in South Florida in the early 1900's and it presents identically reconstructed rooms as well as numerous objects, tools and artifacts. In addition to the permanent collection, a temporary exhibition presents various themes. Currently, it is dedicated to President Kennedy's visit to Homestead Air Force Base in 1962.
