BAREDINE CAVES
Caves with a lake in the subsoil of the Dinaric Alps with five rooms with impressive stalagmites.
At the beginning of the 20th century, speleologists from Trieste discovered these caves by chance in the subsoil of the Dinaric Alps, between Višnjan and Poreč. These caves represent the most important underground site in northern Croatia, just a few kilometers from the Slovenian border. Five rooms with impressive stalagmites. Then, after a 60 m descent, the inner lake appears. This is a unique opportunity to see an endemic animal species, the protus anguinus(Proteus anguinus). The temperature is a constant 14°C.
