Castle built around 1690 with French gardens, the outbuildings house a museum and present permanent exhibitions.
The castle was built around 1690 on the site of the old medieval fortress built in the early 11th century by Fulbert de Beina. Legend has it that he discovered an eagle’s nest, giving the town its name. The plans of the current building were made by an architect of Louis XIV, giving rise to a classical architecture of the end of the 17th century, and French gardens organized in 3 terraces up to the Risle. The building now houses the town hall and has a superb monumental staircase.
