CASTELLO SCALIGERO
Old castle housing a small museum of natural history of Monte Baldo and Garda.
From the old castle (13th-14th century), there remains a square white tower overlooking the lake, surrounded by crenellated walls, which has become the symbol of Malcesine. Inside there is a small museum of natural history of Monte Baldo and the Garda. In nine rooms you will get an insight into the natural characteristics of the lake environment and the surrounding mountains. The former powder magazine built under Austrian rule is dedicated to Goethe (drawings made by the German poet during his trip to Italy and his stay on Lake Garda).
