VILLA GODI MALINVERNI
A villa housing a Museum of fossils collected by Count Andrea Piovene in 1852
Built between 1540 and 1542 it is the first villa designed by Palladio. The slightly recessed middle section of the central body helps to create a remarkable visual effect. Surrounded by a beautiful park, the ten living rooms of the villa are decorated with frescoes by Zelotti. The villa also houses a Museum of Fossils, collected by the storyteller Andrea Piovene in 1852, a gallery of 19th century paintings by Italian artists (not to be missed La Strega by Pietro Annigoni, famous for his Portrait of Elizabeth II) and a library of rare books.
