CASTELLI DI GIULIETTA E ROMEO
Castles with panoramic view on two small hills suggesting a route with a pleasant path.
About 10 minutes drive from the centre of Montecchio Maggiore, the two castles face each other on two small hills. Of Romeo's castle (1354), only the tower and the keep remain, as they were destroyed by the Venetians in 1514. However, it is possible to climb up to the remains and walk along a pleasant path that connects the two monuments; the panoramic view of the region is sublime. Opposite the Juliette's castle, seems to answer her from the top of its tower.
