THE GRAN ACRÓPOLIS
Elevation of 8 m high, hosting the temple whose roof still retains the remains of its imposing peak
Facing the Plaza, this 8-metre-high elevation houses a 160-metre-square square. One is immediately struck by the symmetry of the majestic Edificio de los Cinco Pisos, a pyramidal construction with 5 staggered levels and riddled with openings to small rooms; its upper part houses the temple itself, in the form of a cross, whose roof still preserves the remains of its imposing crest. The Templo del Norte and the Patio Puuc complete the panorama, the most recent constructions of which were built between the 13th and 15th centuries.
