It is a group of buildings (structures, altars and steles) that combines ancient architectural elements with more recent additions (Postclassic period). The Templo de Los Frescos illustrates this phenomenon of successive additions and modifications: its base with rounded corners dates from the Late Classic period, while the temple on top was added several centuries later. The ensemble was originally covered with frescoes, which the passage of time has not spared, since only fragments of a decorative frieze are still visible.
