Fountain that hides happily in the environmental greenery in Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei
During your visit to this charming little village, take the side roads and head for the other bank of the Sarthe, opposite the 15th century chapel. This is the site of the spring that is said to have quenched the thirst of the deacon and preacher Saint Céneri and his disciple, as well as a fountain hidden away in the surrounding greenery. Legend has it that its water has healing properties, including the ability to cure certain eye diseases. A word of advice: be careful on your way there, as the access path is very steep!
