For a change, why not try roti? This dish, which originated in the Indian community of Trinidad, has spread throughout the Caribbean. It's an Indian bread called roti, resembling pita bread, folded and stuffed with curried meat and vegetables. It's the specialty of Shanti, a restaurant in downtown Bridgetown. Its decor isn't its strong point (it looks like a sports bar), but its rotis are a treat at low prices and the atmosphere is top-notch. From the balcony, you can admire the bustling city while you enjoy your dish and a small rum.
