What an unusual place to visit a UNESCO-listed piece of heritage: a hotel garden! It's within the Hilton that you'll find the ruins of this fortress dating back to 1640, when it was known as Needham's Fort. Located on a point just south of Carlisle Bay, it was the ideal place to watch the coast and defend the island from invaders (today, tourists simply enjoy the magnificent view). It's one of the best preserved on the island, with its round tower, cannons, warehouses and powder magazines...
