Florbanca is part of the small distinctive hotel in Costa Rica. His bamboo spa was ranked in the top 10 of the world's finest in 2014 by GQ magazine. This resort is especially appreciated for its small number of pavilions (11 only), located away from the civilization between the black rocks of the sea and the dense forest. You can swim at high tide without problems. The chef, Norman, is Costa Rican and prepares sophisticated cuisine. Very good reception of the charming Cody, manageuse for many years.

Through a series of events at our original hotel my wife and I got rebooked here last second. When we arrived our fears of past reviews were realized. This hotel is not up to par... There was nobody at the front desk to greet us when we arrived, when we eventually did get to our room there was a big spider on the toilet (like nobody had been there in a few days), the entire bathroom and living area is open to the outdoors and as a result all the fixtures are corroded being so close to the ocean. The mini-fridge has a padlock on it to keep out raccoons and we were told to keep all food locked up at night. There were lots of cobwebs under the bed. Walking around the facility the pool was murky and there didn't really seem to be anybody around in general. The only real perk of this place in our opinion was its location being on the beach. For the money it's not worth it... nothing like the pictures
We spent 3 hours here booking a new room at Nantipa down the road, significantly nicer amenities, downtown location, and service.
