The rural hotel Son Gener is a truly charming hotel set in the heart of the Eastern Minorcan countryside... It is impossible to find a more peaceful place in Mallorca! It is located in a rustic house from the 18th century and offers only ten rooms, ensuring a certain intimacy to the guests. The hotel's clean lines, garden with almond and olive trees, spa, yoga retreats, superb swimming pool overlooking the valley and a restaurant serving Mallorcan dishes made with produce from the hotel's own vegetable garden. Visited in october 2022

We stayed at Son Gener for a week with our little family (children aged 2 years and 9 months). If we had put together our dream vacation it would look exactly like our time at Son Gener. The architecture and interior are extremely tasteful highlighting the characteristics of the building as well as materials from the island. We loved the minimalist and yet cosy atmosphere in our room, the lounge areas, the spa and the restaurant. The grounds are much more spacious in reality than they seem on the pictures with beautiful old trees and plants that are very well maintained. With the kids we enjoyed the indoor pool a lot and took many walks around the garden. The outdoor pools are beautiful too but given that we stayed here in October we did not use them as much. We ended up having dinner at the restaurant every single night because the food was so good and offered a lot of variety. Also, the four course menu is fairly priced if you consider the quality of the food. The wine selection is excellent with many mallorcan options. Breakfast was a 5/5 as well with lots of fresh fruit and excellent choices overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even made our son an early dinner. We loved Son Gener and hope to return to this magical place!
