Flat-topped mountain with many access points to Chugah State Park with a commanding view of Anchorage
This mountain can be seen from almost every part of the city, and is distinguishable by its flat top, hence the name. It's probably one of the most popular hikes for local city dwellers, with a 3-mile (about 5 km) loop that provides a commanding 360-degree view of Anchorage and its surroundings, the mountains, and the sea from the 1,021-meter (5,000-foot) elevation. Allow a maximum of 2 hours of walking. This area is one of many access points to Chugach State Park, which surrounds Anchorage on the east side of the city.
