The Marché aux Vins of Beaune is located in the former Cordeliers church, with an impressive view over Hospices de Beaune. Owned by the Halley family, just like the Château de Meursault and the Château de Marsannay, this emblematic and historic place is first a freely accessible art gallery. You can enjoy the exhibition "Les ciels, la liberté en mouvement" (the sky, the freedom in motion) by Franck Bailleul, an artist who has always used Flemish and Dutch painting by Ruysdael, Hobbema, Van Goyen, Pijnacker, Vermeer and Camille Corot. He devotes his works to the painting of skies which, according to him, reflect "the depth of the human soul". This exhibition is displayed under the 14th or early 15th century vaults of the church. The second collection is dedicated to Michel Pernès, a painter from Beauséjour whose oil paintings on canvas made with a knife express the moments of life in a landscape with a disconcerting reality through plays of light nuanced with transparencies and shadows. All the works on display are for sale. The tasting route is free and you will visit the cellars which are lined with oak barrels. You will stroll under the vaults of the chapel, taking the time to taste each wine at your own pace and in the middle of the exhibition, this is the originality of the formula. The very bright boutique is designed to showcase the châteaus' Premiers Crus and Grands Crus, there are many of them and the tasting gives the opportunity to access the best of them.
