Wine museum in Beaune offering a journey to the heart of the traditions of the vine and wine of Burgundy with a tour.
Created in 1938, the Wine Museum was installed in 1946 in the former palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. It offers a journey to the heart of the traditions of the vine and wine of Burgundy. It highlights the singularity of Burgundy's vineyard climates, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour has become fun and interactive with a visit to the cellar where children and adult can practice their aromas. You travel through the history of wine from the Gallo-Roman period to today. You will discover who are the actors of the industry, from the wine trade to the work in the vineyard, the wine making, the cooperage, the traditions and many other subjects. A winegrower's house at the end of the 19th century has been reconstructed. On the way out, just next to the museum, a winery, with a remarkable structure, houses several spectacular wine presses dating from the 16th to the 19th century. Impressive!
