BODENBURG BUTTE

At the bottom of the Matanuska Valley, Bodenburg Butte is a low, isolated mountain. Climb through dense forest before beginning the ascent, which requires a round trip of only 1.6 km, or about 1 hour of hiking along the steepest trail, a moderate difficulty route. However, there are several trails available to you. Bring appropriate footwear. Once at the top, enjoy the view... Matanuska Peak, Lazy Mountain, Knik Glacier, Pioneer Peak, Twin Peaks, and the rest of the Matanuska Valley are all on the horizon.
