CHEVIGNY SAINT SAUVEUR ATTRACTIVE POUR RESIDER
Interview with Guillaume Ruet, mayor of Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur
What are the advantages of Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur?
"Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur is located close to Dijon, with all the advantages of a town on a human scale, but also open, at the crossroads of two freeways. As the gateway to the Dijon plain, we enjoy a wooded commune with green spaces. We also have recent sports facilities. On the cultural front, we have the Polygone auditorium and the Ogive, which can accommodate 1,200 people. Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur also beats to the rhythm of its dynamic community life, catering for all tastes and ages. Our residents have easy access to local shops, particularly in the town center. There are craftsmen and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. In fact, the jacheteachevigny.fr website lists all the retailers and their offers. Living in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur also means taking advantage of the presence of health professionals. Children can be cared for and educated in Chevigny, from nursery school to the baccalauréat. The town has 4 public schools and 1 private school
What real estate and urban development projects are planned?
"The Terres Rousses zone now includes a seven-hectare business park with around a hundred jobs. We are also integrating an urban forest. On the real estate front, 400 homes are being built in the Troubadours district, as Edensy gives birth to three buildings with a shared swimming pool, due for completion in 2026. The Poètes district is being considered for two hectares of individual and collective housing, while on the south side of Chevigny, Crédit Mutuel Aménagement will be building 30 homes, as well as 5,000 square meters of green space. In the center of town, Promogim is preparing to deliver 52 homes, while a 100-unit senior residence, supported by Edensy and Villages d'or, is scheduled to open in 2027. Throughout the commune, our aim is to meet the needs of families of all ages and in all shapes and sizes, in order to maintain our population, which wants to stay in the area."
How does Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur see itself in the future?
"Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur is strongly committed to the energy transition. All our infrastructure renovations incorporate a very strong environmental dimension. Last year, for example, we completed the renovation of the Ez-Allouères school complex, which reduced its energy consumption by 60%. In September 2024, we began the comprehensive renovation of the Buisson-Rond school, which will go from being a "thermal sieve" to a "positive energy building", producing more energy than it consumes. The reception area of the Town Hall, soon to be renovated, also incorporates a strong environmental dimension. The city is trying to set an example in this area."
