KATO RODAKINO
The village of Rodakino is a very relaxing place west of Plakias.
To the west of Plakias, the village of Rodakino, a stage of the E4 hiking trail, opens onto the sea, blocked between two hills. It is a relatively unknown place for tourists, and therefore very relaxing. Kato Rodakino corresponds to the lower part of the village: the beaches. The village appears in the Ottoman registers of 1659 but it was inhabited in 1600. During the Second World War, British submarines were sheltering in the bay of Kato Rodakino. The village was burned by the Nazis on August 20, 1943 and a large number of inhabitants were executed.
