LE RÉSEAU DE CHALEUR DIJON MÉTROPOLE
An ecological and socially responsible heating network
In Dijon, the construction and operation of a heating network is a reality. Dijon Métropole took advantage of the work on the two tramway lines to install a network that will eventually extend over 120 km. With this eco-heating network, Dijon Métropole has achieved 70% of its heat production from renewable energies. Reduced energy dependency, lower costs for subscribers thanks to competitive energy and zero maintenance are just some of the advantages offered by the network.
The northeast network heats a large part of Dijon and Quetigny
Entrusted in 2011 to Dijon Energies, a subsidiary of Dalkia (EDF Group), this network heats a large eastern half of Dijon and Quetigny. Since December 2014, the wood-fired boiler plant equipped with three biomass boilers has been in operation on the Préjoces site, supplying heat to the south of this network, already supplied to the north by heat from the incineration plant furnaces. With a capacity of 90 megawatts, this new wood-fired heating plant guarantees economical and environmentally-friendly heating, with 76% of the heat supplied by this network now coming from renewable energies.
The western network, in the Fontaine d'Ouche district and in Chenôve
The Fontaine d'Ouche district heating network, set up in 1963 to support the development of the district's ZUP (urban development zone), will extend considerably between Les Marcs d'Or, Talant and as far as Chenôve. The network has been entrusted to Sodien for 24 years, under a public service delegation agreement with the Dijon metropolitan authority. The network supplies thousands of residents in western Dijon with green, economical heat. The network has recently been extended to the neighboring districts of Bourroches, Eiffel, Motte Giron and Arsenal.
Communities that benefit. Dijon neighborhoods first, but also Talant, Fontaine-Lès-Dijon and Longvic, a total of 23.5 kilometers recently built.
