ÉCOQUARTIER HEUDELET 26
The Heudelet 26 eco-district, a completely new concept, is located behind Dijon Métropole's headquarters, just a stone's throw from the city center and a streetcar stop from Place de la République. After 15 years of construction, the 5-hectare site has been completed. It houses almost 350 mixed housing units, including a 120-seat student residence, and 10,000 m² of offices, shops and cultural facilities in an entirely pedestrianized area (with an adjoining underground parking lot). Two exemplary buildings have won regional awards. This pedestrian area outside the city center offers shared outdoor parking.
La Bourdonnerie, a service building with an insect hotel on the facade, won an award from the regional council, while a 23-unit apartment block won the Habiter ensemble prize from the Maison des Architectes. A model of sustainable construction, the Ecopolis building completes a 7,000 m² office offering. It is one of the winners of the Adivbois call for expressions of interest (Immeubles à vivre bois). The 6-storey wooden building is set to become the new landmark of the eco-neighborhood.
Halle 38, a place dedicated to artistic creation. This 1,500 m² former military hall, in the heart of the Heudelet district, has just been renovated into offices, workshops and rehearsal spaces for a theater company and artists' studios, notably for students from Ensa, the Ecole nationale supérieure des arts.
Nearby Halle 12 is being refurbished by Kaufman & Broad to create a residence of around 30 new housing units, with an innovative architecture given the character of the building.
Developers Atik Résidences and BFC Promotion Habitat are completing their projects here.
