ORDRE DES ARCHITECTES DE BOURGOGNE FRANCHE COMTÉ
The Ordre des Architectes is a private organization with a public service mission, under the supervision of the Minister of Culture and Communication. Registration with the Ordre des Architectes is compulsory in order to be entitled to use the title of architect and practice this profession. The Ordre is made up of a national council and 17 regional councils, comprising representatives elected for a 6-year term and a regional representative of the Minister of Culture. The regional council of the Ordre des Architectes is responsible for verifying that architects meet the conditions of practice laid down by law: - obtaining a government-recognized diploma - compliance with professional ethics - taking out insurance - obligation to undergo continuing training (since January 2017) The Order also ensures that the regional roll of all architects is kept, that the title of Architect is defended, compliance with the Code of Professional Duties and the application of sanctions handed down by the Disciplinary Chamber, the organization of continuing education, the promotion of architects and architecture, notably through the Maisons de l'Architecture, conciliation in disputes that may arise between architects themselves or between architects and their clients, etc. Some 267 companies and 565 architects are registered with the order in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
