House over 500 years old, with a quiet inner garden ideal for sitting back and reading a good novel.
Near the Notre-Dame church, so dear to the people of Dijon, stands another famous building of the city: it is a house more than 500 years old! Built in 1483 for the cloth merchants Guillaume Millière and Guillemette Durand, it is a fine example of a medieval house. Its configuration includes a shop on the first floor and an apartment on the first floor. Its basket-handle arches and its half-timbering in the form of a Saint Andrew's cross filled in with bricks, perfectly illustrate the construction methods of the 15th century. In the 20th century, a cat and an owl took place on the roof, as a nod to the nearby Owl and the Dukes' Palace, located a few meters away! And if on the facade you find a crest bearing the initials of the merchant and his wife, don't hesitate to immerse yourself even more in the place, by entering it. It's like going back in time, and you'll appreciate the calm of the interior garden in summer, to sit and read a good novel in peace. The first floor is still a store where you will find various objects and regional products to offer as a souvenir of your stay. You can also relax in the tea room of the house or taste the regional dishes of the restaurant, located upstairs. A house full of character which is, since 1943, registered as a historical monument and which was even used as a set for the filming of Cyrano de Bergerac, by Jean-Paul Rappeneau.

The ratings and reviews below reflect the subjective opinions of members and not the opinion of The Little Witty.
A fuir.
