Founded in 1979 and offering vehicles from the airport or a free pick-up from your Reykjavik hotel, the company offers a wide selection of cars and top-quality service. The company also has an office at Keflavik airport and a branch in Reykjavík. Please note: to rent a car, you need a credit card, not a debit card (often indicated by the word "debit" on the card). Otherwise, you'll have to take out the most expensive insurance to recover your vehicle.

I am embarrassed to say it now but Atak is not upselling me, the Iceland weather is to be respected and it definitely reflected on the roads. Atak is just providing me a sound local advice.
We went through a gale snowshower, saw 4 car rescues, icy roads and survived to write this review. Thanks to Cristiana for your concern when I returned the car. Appreciate the good service.
I felt “obligated” to inform people to please drive with care, read the reports in travelsafe.is daily, plan your journey with lots of time to spare, and consider getting a 4WD during the winter months. And try to get the platinum insurance coverage. I know it’s going to be expensive but when the big vehicles drive past you and the stones start flying towards you, you know you had it covered. I got the platinum insurance and my car return experience was a breeze.
Enjoy Iceland, it is a beautiful country.
