ZONA ARQUEOLÓGICA EK'BALAM
A ceremonial gate with four broken arches, reconstructed to welcome visitors to the southern square at Ek' Balam.
You enter through theArco, a ceremonial door with four broken arches, reconstructed to welcome visitors to the south square. On the right, the Oval Palace, the upper part of which would have served as an observatory, has ten cramped rooms. On its sides, the small twin pyramids and the Palacio de las Monjas seem to stand guard in front of the stelae platform. Heading north, one crosses the traditional ball game before admiring the great Acrópolis.
