PARK OF PRŮHONICE (PRŮHONICE PARK)
The region's great interest lies in the visit of the Parc Park, which is connected to the village of the same name. The small village is now joined by the urban tentacles of Prague, but still has a little bit of its village character. This is, in any case, an excellent idea of excursions from the capital. The castle has been rebuilt many times in the most eclectic styles. Unfortunately, he is not visiting. But he embellishes the park in a very beautiful way. Its towers and turrets of various shapes are reflected in the ponds. These varied colours, frescoes and sgraffites are remarkable. The English-style park is of all beauty. It houses the Prague Botanical Institute, which engages in research on plants, but also on the birds, insects and other volatile species that inhabit the park.
Among the most remarkable achievements of this natural reserve, on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2010, we can cite the rock, artificially created and covering 3 ha, where the typical flora of mountains and forests, the Rose rose, has more than 900 varieties of roses, as well as the lilies collection, worthy of the most beautiful Monet paintings. It is therefore a relaxing afternoon that offers you if you leave the capital to come here. The park is immense and its rhododendrons, its azaleas that run all the paths make it irresistible especially at the beginning of the summer. There are different kinds to ensure that flowering lasts for as long as possible and that all colours are on schedule. Thus, the greenery of the trees is complemented by pink, red, purple, white or yellow in all shades and tones. The park was severely damaged by the floods of 2002, but it is now superb again. In the summer, the Botanique botanical garden (Botanická zahrada) is open to the public until. The castle opens its doors for events or exhibitions.
The road continues on Dobřejovice and then crosses the highway towards Říčany. From there, we descend south by the village of Mnichovice, from which Road No. 335 leads to the edge of the Sázava.
