The Canyon Course has long made a name for itself by hosting memorable international tournaments, including the Honda Invitational in 1996 and the Johnnie Walker Classics Tournament twice; first in 1994, when Greg Norman regained the number one ranking in the world, setting the course record for the Canyon Course, and again in 1998, which saw Tiger Woods stage one of the most amazing comebacks of the game to see Ernie Els defeated for the final hole. The Canyon Course has been awarded several prestigious prizes.
