GRDF, Gaz Réseau Distribution France, is committed to both the energy transition and energy savings. With 200,715 kilometers of network and 9,500 communities serving 11 million customers, GRDF is Europe's leading gas distributor. On a day-to-day basis, the company operates France's gas distribution network as part of its public service mission. As the energy sector evolves, GRDF innovates and opens up to new solutions such as biogas or biomethane, injected into the network and produced from household or agricultural waste. GRDF is committed to the third gas revolution over the next four years, with the aim of achieving 100% renewable gas by 2050.

GRDF's activities are focused on 3 main areas. Transporting gas on behalf of all suppliers; guaranteeing the quality, safety and development of the distribution network; advising customers on the efficient use of gas combined with renewable energies (RE).

Green gas for heating. GRDF offers green gas, thanks in particular to biomethane, and intends to support France's objective of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030. With biomethane, GRDF is playing its part in the energy transition, while working to strengthen France's independence and sovereignty in terms of gas. With biomethane, the gas sent to the network is ten times less carbon-intensive. GRDF plans to increase its production of green gas fivefold. The good news is that you don't need to change your heating system to benefit from this.

GRDF has developed a number of toolsto support its customers and partners in energy management. The "Smart Gas Grid" is modernizing the network, while gas customers are equipped with the communicating gas meter for automatic remote reading throughout France. GRDF is committed not only to helping its customers decarbonize, but also to halving its own CO2 emissions and multiplying its green gas production by five.

Easy connection: For heating, hot water and cooking, connecting to the gas network takes just 5 steps:

- A connection request to GRDF via an online form, which will result in an offer within a week.
- Once received, the offer must be accepted online or by post.
- The GRDF advisor contacts you to finalize the file and plan the connection work.
- At the same time, a plumber/heating engineer must be selected to work on the private part of the connection.
- Once the work has been completed, all that remains is to choose a gas supplier. At the supplier's request, a GRDF technician will make the gas available in the home.

The cost of connection depends on your needs and the location of your home. The www.grdf.fr/particuliers website presents technical solutions for gas heating, with an estimate of the cost of installation, while the Estimoaides tool lets you evaluate energy savings and financial aid for your project in just a few clicks: www.grdf.fr/particuliers/simulateur-renovation/
