GARÐSKAGI
The most remote point of the peninsula where there are 2 lighthouses in Gardur
The most remote tip of the peninsula, home to 2 lighthouses. The oldest was built in 1897 and remained in operation until 1944, when it was replaced by the more modern lighthouse next door. Garðskagi is popular with birdwatchers, who watch migratory birds fly by, and the old lighthouse is a popular observation post. From here, you can see the capital across the bay, and on a clear day, even Snaefell Mountain much further away. The oldest lighthouse has a small café, ideal for a break.
