REFUGE DE JOUVENCE
In 2017, Refuge de Jouvence celebrates its 50th anniversary. Happy news for our animal friends, who continue to be taken in, cared for and looked after by dedicated professionals and volunteers, while waiting to be adopted. To get to the shelter, just drive through the village of Messigny, a few minutes from Dijon, along the Val Suzon road. Once you've passed the Fontaine de Jouvence, the refuge is not far away. You're in the middle of nature, and so are the animals. Around 150 dogs and 100 cats live here. Since recent renovations, and thanks to the involvement of 13 salaried staff and 40 volunteers, the premises have undergone major changes to accommodate catteries, over 120 dog boxes (some of which are heated), an operating room, an auscultation room and play areas for the dogs. Good to know: the shelter does not euthanize, even sick cats, if there is any hope of survival. If you're looking for an animal to adopt, this is the place to go. Here you'll find all the information you need to care for your new best friend. Let's remember one essential rule: an animal is not a gift, but a living being in need of good care, attention and a long-term commitment.
