ALTA HOTEL ^{* * * *}

Fuimos a la boda civil de unos amigos. Reservaron un salón para celebrar. Se les indicó que a las 10:00 pm debía acabar la celebración. Hasta ahí todo bien. Los meseros amables y el lugar muy bonito. Lamentablemente el muchacho de front desk, llegó y les gritó a los recién casados a las 10:05 por tener la música aún encendida. Es entendible que quieran que no haya ruido después de las 10. Sin embargo la manera que reaccionó el encargado fue exagerada, con gritos y amenazando con llamar a la policia cuando en realidad nadie estaba insistiendo en mantenerla encendida. No se si estaba teniendo un muy mal día el muchacho, pero hizo una escena. Cuando se le indicó que ningún mesero había dicho que ya casi era hora de finalizar se calmó un poco porque supongo que se dio cuenta que había sobre reaccionado, pero aún así tuvo una actitud prepotente y altanera. Es lamentable terminar la noche con ese sin sabor para los novios. Nada le costaba pedir de una manera tranquila y educada que por favor ya apagaran la música y finalizaran el evento. This beautiful boutique lovely hotel was everything I expected and more! Before coming to this country, I did my homework by reading reviews intensely and found this one.... thank you to all the fellow reviewers! The rooms, spacious, like living in a mini apartment! Food, delicious and fresh, the view from the restaurant was amazing! Staff were incredible going above and beyond helping.... especially getting our rental car debacle figured out, huge shout out to Marlene! We had the incredible pleasure in meeting Alex and Stephanie who divulged the best places and routes to take for the rest of our trip. You can't go wrong with this highly personalized experience. Wat een prachtige gebouw op een mooie locatie. De olifantenorenboom in de tuin is fantastisch. Zwembad schoon met comfortabele bedjes. Het personeel erg behulpzaam. Kamers ruim en schoon, de bedden zijn fijn.
Het is mooi om ‘s morgens bij het (lekkere) ontbijt door de eigenaar gevraagd te worden of alles naar wens is.
In verband met onze late vlucht mochten we de kamer tot laat houden.
Wat met 2 kinderen altijd heel prettig is.

Een eigenzinnig klein hotel dat op zichzelf staat: een prestatie om je staande te houden tussen de grote hotel ketens. Kleine pareltje met een eigen karakter: wat steeds zeldzamer wordt. Een verblijf wat ik zeker aanraadt

It is a cute place, however the security is awful … not to say it is not existent. We had a reservation dinner and one of the cars was robbed, the window was taken out. They said they have the videotape but none of the staff did or say anything about; we only realize at the end of the dinner. I would not recommend going there because you can not have even dinner without thinking your car is unsafe.

The staff here are truly fantastic. Every human I interacted with was really amazing, friendly, and provided excellent service!

The room itself was a disappointment. The mattress was very hard, the pillows quite cheap, and the towels and such beyond the point of replacement.

The A/C was broken my entire 4 day stay, and they provided no updates. Each day they said it would be fixed tomorrow, and it was never fixed.

They gave me a 10% discount, but only after I asked for it. They gave me a fan, after I asked for it. They did nothing proactively to help with the situation, which I found disappointing.

Wonderful view, and the restaurant is truly world class, I had some amazingly delicious meals here.

Overall, I might go back for dinner, but I would not stay in this hotel again. In a city where average hotels are $60 - 70/night, for $250/night it should be something special, and was just okay.
